CRA- Canada Surveys INC. is a new venture of a Hydrographic Surveying Company established in 1986 named CRA INC. of Houston Texas. Alex Howden, Geomatics Technologist operates C.R.A. Canada Surveys INC. and has eight years of marine and land survey experience in both the United States and Canada. CRA of Houston also has an affiliate in Seattle called CRA-NW which is operated by Craig Keener A.K.L.S.

CRA began when several key individuals with many years experience in Hydrographic and Land Surveying, Offshore Positioning, Engineering Geology and Geophysics, came together to form a new company. The object was to provide the highest level of service for gathering data on land or under water, for civil engineering, environmental research, GIS mapping, dredging, and general marine investigations.
